Specialised in developing and producing electronics and machines for the production of wind turbine rotor blades. Because we are constantly innovating and developing Twenco has managed to secure a technological advantage over its competitors. Alongside our products focused on the wind energy market, Twenco also produces and develops measurement hardware for the monitoring and managing of composite production processes for the aerospace, automotive and composites industry and research institutions.

Company culture

Role description

The role comprises two main functions, firmware development, and design and prototyping of devices based around the ARM platform that is common to all of our devices.

The development aspect of the role will involve working in a small team to develop and maintain firmware for our network connected control and measurement devices, which are based around the STM32 microcontroller family and FreeRTOS. Frequent collaboration with our User Application Software team will be expected, to ensure seamless interoperation between user and device.

The design, prototyping and testing aspect of the role will involve working alone or in a team to extend our common ARM platform onto future products, which will include a variety of measurement and control electronics, and the design of sensors for composite material measurement. For this, we have extensive equipment available to us to enable rapid prototyping of new devices, including an in-house pick-and-place equipped assembly line, and rework equipment suitable for high-density SMD.

Your skill profile

  • Bachelors’ (HBO/WO) or higher degree in Embedded Systems Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Science or other relevant degrees at a similar level.
